16 imagesIn 2013 I spent a week on an industrial shoot in the Dominican Republic. The 40 minute commute between Santo Domingo and Bajos De Haina, the site of my client, provided a narrow but intense view into the DR and so I shot photos out the window of our van to and from work each day. The vivid colors, poverty and bustling character of the country were on full display, as we made our way through 7 lanes of traffic inexplicably squeezed into 4 lanes. I left the DR with only a hint of the flavor of the country, but those drives were really special and made me want to dig deeper than I had time for. When I asked our driver if he was concerned about the tropical storm that was about to hit the island on our third day there, he laughed and said "Oh no...I enjoy them! I go outside and take a shower under my downspout!" It's a country of very adaptable people.
